Birthday Cake Funfetti Milkshake

You don't need a birthday to drink this milkshake, but it'll make any random Tuesday feel like a celebration. This funfetti milkshake tastes exactly like birthday cake batter — sweet, buttery, vanilla-packed, and absolutely loaded with rainbow sprinkles that make every glass look like a party.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons yellow cake mix (dry, uncooked)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles, plus extra for topping
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream
  • Additional sprinkles for rim and garnish

Method

  1. Dip the rim of two glasses in a thin layer of whipped cream or honey, then press into rainbow sprinkles to coat the rim.
  2. Add the vanilla ice cream, milk, dry cake mix, vanilla extract, and almond extract to a blender.
  3. Blend for 15 seconds until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the rainbow sprinkles and pulse 2-3 times just to fold them in — don't over-blend or the colors will bleed.
  5. Pour into the sprinkle-rimmed glasses.
  6. Top with a tall swirl of whipped cream.
  7. Shower more rainbow sprinkles over the whipped cream generously.
  8. Serve immediately with a colorful straw.

Notes

The cake mix is the magic ingredient — it adds that authentic birthday cake flavor without any baking. Use jimmies (rod-shaped sprinkles) rather than nonpareils (tiny balls) because they hold their color better when blended. The almond extract is subtle but important — it's what makes birthday cake taste like birthday cake. For a more intense flavor, use birthday cake ice cream.
