This spread is all about the cheese. If you’ve ever crushed up a bag of Cheetos and thought “this could be a meal,” you already understand the concept. In prison, pepper jack cheese squeezers and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos are two of the most popular commissary items, and when you combine them with ramen noodles, the result is this ridiculously cheesy, spicy, crunchy concoction that people get genuinely excited about.
The pepper jack adds a creamy heat that pairs perfectly with the Cheetos crunch, and the ramen bulks it up into a full meal. Some people add pickles on the side for contrast — the tang and crunch against the rich cheesiness is surprisingly addictive. This is comfort food stripped down to its most basic and satisfying form.

Prison-Style Cheetos Pepper Jack Spread
Ingredients
Method
- Crush the ramen noodles in the package. Open and pour into a large zip-lock bag.
- Crush about three-quarters of the Cheetos and add to the bag. Reserve the rest for topping.
- Add the diced beef stick and both ramen seasoning packets.
- Pour hot water into the bag — just enough to barely cover the mix. Seal the bag.
- Wrap in a towel and let sit for 15 minutes.
- Open the bag and add the cream cheese and pepper jack cheese. Mix thoroughly while still hot so the cheese melts into the spread.
- Add hot sauce and mix again.
- Top with the reserved crushed Cheetos for crunch and diced pickle.
- Eat straight from the bag or serve on a plate. Best while hot and melty.
